Solved, Per my previous post....problem fixed already.
Bad formatter caused horiz lines, PLUS a bad ( brand new OEM Transfer Belt Unit ) was causing the color registration issues...would not...

So... swapped ctgs AGAIN...still no joy.

With random colors and lines NOT showing up on engine test, issue ended up being a bad formatter AND a bad "brand new" TBU that would not calibrate,...

Yep... after 34 years, I too have been on this road since it was gravel... back in the days of the first canon CX engines and liquid Savins.

I already tried the "disable cartridge" testing before...

All OEM toner...and you didn't answer the question. Have you actually seen this issue first hand? You can blame toner ctgs "all day long" but have you ever even serviced a 5550n or any other 11x17...

I've got an HP CLJ 5550n 11x17 printer with multi-color "horizontal" lines.

In the middle of a 150 page, suddenly develops several un-evenly spaced horizontal lines, The lines go completely off...
