Replace the scanner unit (CCD unit) - and do the set up procedure in service mode. Have had them go faulty on IRADV2225 models in the past.

They come as one drum unit, and also depends on what colour aswell (don't think you can split them to do it separately).
There are 4 drums (yellow, magenta, cyan, and black).

Fixing unit connector at back of machine - (not the one on the fuser) has a short / nipped wire. Replace this connector along with its associated wiring loom.
Duplex will probably be knackered and the feed rollers for this unit are abolished from what I remember.

Yes. Drum the cause. Replacing should resolve the issue, also maybe clean the exterior of the laser unit aswell (be careful when removing cables and unit as it can be easily damaged.)
