Very strange indeed, as said appears colour is being laid down too.

What setting do you have set under SYSTEM SET UP MENU .

From what I understand is that Actually, if you select the "print in grayscale" option, it will print using only the black toner cartridge. This printer has a feature that allows the color developers...

As said did you change , replace the cartridge chip.

also make sure that the chip you are using is matched to the Encoder wheel of the cartridge.

Most aftermarket chips work with NON PREBATE...
