    OK, I'll take a stab at this. Wrong firmware, perhaps? If it has firmware for a different finisher, this would cause issues. Also, corrupt firmware.

    As long as the lubricant bar and the drum are in good shape, I've never had an issue.

    Picture shows one almost finished.

    I use a brillo pad moistened on one corner with rubbing alcohol, and then wipe away the dirt with a clean cloth, turn the roller a bit and repeat.

    As mentioned above, if the plastic rib in the lower fusing frame has broken off, this allows the fuser roller to shift in the frame which causes problems ranging from incomplete fusing of the image...
