I assume the blank spaces run horizontal, as in the same direction as the carriage. Which means you have a media advance issue. Are they printing in 'fast' or draft mode? This is a common result if...

I would suspect the belt then if it's not genuine. It also appears to have a lot of slack in it based on the video. I would get a genuine belt first before throwing other parts at it.
Kiran
When was the belt replaced last? Is it a belt from HP or China?
Kiran
Alright, thank you for verifying it's not the belt/carriage. I don't think the motor is at fault because in my experience they never fail, but that doesn't mean it's bad. But I would suspect it...
I am fairly certain you can not put a used hard drive in another machine and expect it to work. Once the drive is serialized to a printer it can not be put in another printer.
From the service...
Try moving the carriage while holding onto the belt and see if it slips. If it does, then check where it threads through at the carriage.
Make sure you can NOT move the carriage independent of the...
Yikes. If I had to guess, the belt is either not installed at the back of the carriage correctly, or the back of the carriage is broken and allowing the belt to slip. Try moving the carriage while...
I'd use lithium grease.

If the RAM doesn't do it, the hard drive is probably bad; it's the most common failure item. If you reach that point I can send you the recovery disk ISOs if you need them.
Kiran
You can replace it with any ram that matches the same speed. I would thoroughly reseat the RAM though, it may just not be making contact well. Take it out and put it back in several times. There's...
User message "Power Supply Error #1"
This error indicates a short in the 24V electronics circuits. Do not replace the Power Supply; This message only indicates the failure, and is not the cause....
The drop detect 'flag' tells the printer not to perform a drop detection, for example when replacing it. You always have to clear the flag before calibrating the drop detector. This is detailed in...
Could you provide the exact model number from the front panel, and the part number of the ink cartridges?
You could have ink designed for another country, or a 'contractual' printer (model number...
Something does not look right with that sensor. No wonder it was the problem.
Kiran
Huh, good to know! I've not encountered that particular condition. I look forward to seeing a picture of the sensor.
Kiran
What you describe sounds like the carriage can't detect the edge or presence of the paper, which is the job of the line sensor. Fortunately HP still sells them. E1L21-67021
If the printer was...
This printer and many of its cousins have sensors in the roll supports that tell the printer if the roll is turning. The printer expects the roll to turn when it's feeding the paper, and if it...
I would replace the EMOD first (that PCA below the PSU.) Always try the least expensive parts first. I've been down this same road with these printers; it's a matter of trial and error and very...
I would not try this. I'd be surprised if the formatter even fits in a different printer. I've never tried such a thing.
If you replaced the HD and are still not getting it to boot, then I would...
The way I usually determine such questions is by looking up the part on the HP Parts website, and checking to see what printers a part is meant for. Realizing this is not always accurate but in...
I don't follow your description of events; the HP 'site' (website?) is not what uploads the firmware to the printer. You're supposed to use the HP Designjet Utility as outlined in the instructions...
It's the left side spittoon. CQ890-67044 If you didn't replace it it's usually not a big deal. Only if the existing one is nearly full of ink which I've never encountered.
Kiran
I've seen printers print a swath constantly from the service station all the way across the media path and beyond. I think this is more of a fluke than anything else. I don't recall a printer doing...
Blackcat is absolutely right about the roll width. Though I thought HP put out a firmware update to deal with that?
And I believe in the driver there's an option for 'auto rotate'. I never...
The damage to the FP cable is when it gets pinched underneath the EMOD by the left cover being installed. HP tapes it up against the EMOD but once removed it just sort of dangles unless you replace...
