if it is printing colour ok and the black is fading or dissappearing it is the black dev drive clutch definatley the wire cracks.

remove little metal circle disc off the rear of the fuser so the seating pin fits. Easy fix

i too have three machines with the same codes. Changed the cleaning assembly on all 951's and after a while they all have come back with the same code.Also updated firmware but still happens

quieting down now as changing the black drum has slowed the issue.

if the minutes on th k drum are double change it as it will save in the long run :-)

Transfer belt unit is blocked in the cleaning section. Check this as it may be that the waste bos assy is blocked too.

Are you using OEM toner? i have had this on C220 with exactly the same CQ when using non-OEM ir reproduces the same CQ issues.

i used OEM toners and the problem disappeared

it was the black drum mainly that seemed to be causing the issue

replace the drums as this seems to be the solution.

i started this thread a while ago now and i have only just seem to have got to the bottom of this.

it sounds like you havent set the controller type in 'system2' in service mode to 'controller type 1'

Did you get the C-40A3 code after you upgraded the firmware?

the wire cracks at the joint of the clutch.

KM put a bulletin up after we advised them of what the issue was.

They also released the clutch as a seperate part due to the fact it didnt come as a...

PROBABLE CAUSES:
Shortly afterpower up
Black drum motor (M18) or PRCB has failed.
Check the M18 connector for proper connection and ensure that M18 has proper drive...

i have a customer that has a C368 that has a FK-514 fitted they can not send a fax to this number.

I then recreated the same st up at my office and i also can not fax to this...

The only thing you can do is to up the fuser temp but you may find you get problems with normal paper.
