I tried to get it for my MPC4501 but got shot down in flames too :(

I am just going through testing of a MPC 4501 and mostly it's working well (just an issue with A3 jamming post fuser from the bypass tray) however the output is showing quite a significant impression...
Apparently some people want to help me by selling me the firmware :( - that's two pm's now offering to help by selling it to me.
Yes, I realized that - I'm afraid I seem to have hijacked a thread so I'll jump out. Sorry
LOL
No that was for the bracket that attaches the finisher to the mfc - it was bent during transit so I removed it and returned it to it's original shape with my 'Manchester Screwdriver' (Brit...
Woohoo it arrived!
As it had been stored in a cold warehouse, I've left it to stabilize in temperature and humidity before powering up.

I have been around for a while with my Xerox DC242 and DC250 and I now have a nice shiny Ricoh MPC-4501 sitting in my kitchen - no reps I'm afraid as I ask and absorb information but can't...
I found an SD PS3 card for £70 so far - so I'll check everything out tomorrow and see what I am going to need :)
Thanks all
It arrives tomorrow and as it's an 'old' model I got it for peanuts complete with the booklet finisher.
Thanks for the heads up on the k drums for CMY - I'll bear that in mind.
I...
I don't suppose anyone has access to the latest firmware for an mpc4501 do they?
I asked Ricoh and got the 'only available to business partners so give me your account number and account managers...
Meter - around 70,000
Thanks for the info - I've pulled the trigger on it :)
I have always used Xerox machines in the past but now looking at a lightly used MPC4501 for photo booklet work.
Anyone know how they would compare with a Xerox DC242 for example - are they...
As you can see from the test print (A4 LEF from Tray3) I am getting both horizontal and vertical defects and ONLY on the Black (B/W) mode - the 3 colors are all perfect.
I changed the Black drum...
It's not really the black that I am worried about but the Cyan - that huge 15mm wide soft edge deletion. I'm going to order a new ROS and see if that fixes the problem - I don't like the scratches on...
Gave the ROS another good clean today but nothing has improved :(
I did notice that one of the glass rod 'mirrors' in the ROS has scratches on it but they pretty much ran the length of the mirror...
Just in case anyone is interested, I took some photos to help me during reassembly. Note the significant toner contamination - it's a lot cleaner now :)

Thanks - I'll give that a go in the morning. I wasn't sure what to use so avoided any solvents except I removed and cleaned the glass windows with glass cleaner but I'll get a lint free cloth and...
I blew it with a can of compressed air (well away from the print room) but didn't touch it with anything to wipe it.
Do you think it's worth doing? I have the strip down to about 30 minutes now :)...
Right, I just moved the Cyan developer tanks between the 2 machines and the soft deletion line did not move across. It's still on the DC250. It's a pale Cyan line 20cm from the left edge on A4...
Thanks - but I am not exactly sure what you just said :)
"Take it back to the original machine and check it its still clear." - what do you mean?
Today I am going to swap the cyan developer...
Thanks - I'll redo the ROS and also take the top of the Cyan developer and check. I have another bag of developer if necessary.
Hopefully someone is online with any more ideas :)
Today I stripped down my DC250 which also has what I believe to be a ROS issue - this is my backup machine so I thought better to try and work on...
Yes, I need to order the ozone filter - did I read somewhere that you can buy just the element cheaper rather than the whole filter housing?
Also where is the CC filter located as I think I need...
Thanks!
Different Corotrons
I found the deletion LED strips - do they just need a wipe clean?
Thanks!
I just need to track down the pdf instructions - I hope it's 30 minutes :)
