I was getting reprimanded by management because my FCE numbers were too low. They wouldn't give me a decent parts inventory. BTW, we had to ask permission to order parts over $100.00. So, over about...
I'm an old guy fixin' to retire after 42 years in the business, so my opinion is from the old school. For the vast majority of my career, we were given a territory and were responsible for managing...
Stop me if you already heard this. I was working on a 3M copier years ago at a church. I had to refer to the service manual for some adjustments. This was back when service manuals were actual books....
My father managed a trucking company and lost a driver who hit a curb with a semi tractor. He got out to inspect the damage to the tire. When he bent down to look at it, the wheel exploded taking off...
I lost my job, not because of the mandates, but the drop in service calls due to COVID. I worked a 1.5 man territory and begged for help for a year. I ended up with COVID and was hospitalized for a...
A question for all tekkies who works under the Pros Elite system.
What are your thoughts as a technician (especially the older ones) about Pros Elite?

Ah yes, the old model 209. The first copier I was trained on. It used a pink intermediate paper and coated white paper. It ran at a blazing 4 copies per minute and sounded like a wash machine.
My favorite term to use after instructing a customer is "Updated the Meatware". Or when customer does something stupid to the machine, "Meatware Failure".
Thanks everybody for your help. My tech went there today for further troubleshooting. He installed an OEM toner and ran 25-1. The dev reading was very low again (40-50) and displayed the F2-40 errors...

hi - has anybody had issues setting up the PS3 option (MX-PK11) that comes with the machine? We have the certificate which includes the application # and product key however the machine shows no PS...
hi - we are having trouble clearing an F2-40 error on a Sharp MX-M354N. We originally replaced the entire dev unit about a month ago and error cleared. Same error came back several weeks later so...
OK. I just snorfed my beer reading that!
Turns out, It was the pressure lever. Great call!
I will give that a good look tomorrow. Thanks!

This MP5002 that I am working n now. It constantly overtones. Replaced the entire PCDU, IDS, BCU, IOB, 2 developers. Less than 400K.
I recently heard this from our Regional Rep. have the network people disable SNMP. The theory is that Microsoft had an update that is now causing this problem for many different brands of MFPs.
