I know this is years past when this was created but I just ran into this issue and you can just buy the scanner optic piece. The part number is C8569-60001 and it costs a lot less than the entire...
Are the lines on prints and copies? Try printing out an internal page from the machine and see if it has lines. That will at least tell you if it is in the optics or in the image development area. If...
From what I can tell within the service guides for both machines the IRAC 5051 and IRAC 5255 they do not use the same black developer unit.
Check the duplex inverter guide that sits on the door, specifically the foam pads that it rests on. When they get old the guide sits too low in them and gets stuck which will keep the paper from...
Make sure you have a P-Print or at least the door specs. Service mode lvl 1 copier->function->clear-> highlight DC Con press OK. Do this 2 or 3 times then power cycle machine. re-enter door specs and...
Sometimes removing them can cause issues as well since the diverter gate now sits lower than it should. I usually try and replace the 2 from the diverter gate with some sort of sticky back padding.
First I would say have you tried a DC CON Clear? If so then it sounds like you need a new hopper assembly. Part # FM2-0286-010 You might have to swap the handle from the current one over to the new...
Is your developer bias lead (red wire white connector) plugged into the developer unit? Also like the other tech said make sure the coupler on the front of the drum is positioned correctly and not...
This is easy...Canon IRC 3100/3170 series! Rotating developer, clutch issues on toner supply so DV units get over packed and lock up. Jamming on right side due to door not shutting...
Copier->Function->Install->TONER-S in service mode. You run this at the time of installation or when replacing the developer unit. It adds toner and stirs at the same time. It starts out with a 600...
Hey Buzz,
I have attached a tech tip that I have had some success with, this is a very common issue with the FN-12 finisher.28947
Our primary line is HP but we sell Samsung for our bigger machines.
Does the UK site offer you the ability to download either an SST version or a USB version?
When you unzip the ones from Canon USA it should give you only 2 main things a folder (with many items in it) and a .ift file. Load both of directly onto the root of your USB drive. Insert USB into...
Did you try swapping out the laser assembly?
If after doing the full firmware upgrade and it still doesn't work try doing an MMI Clear. This will wipe out all your network settings and some others but I have had good success using this for...
OK how about the ITB assembly? Have you checked to make sure that all of the individual color transfer rollers inside of it are properly seated? I have seen one side of the bushing pop out of place...
Just wondering have you replaced the Magenta DV unit since they are separate from the drum?
I'm ok with that...wouldn't be the first time I ordered a board and it didn't fix the problem! :) Thanks to Canon tech support that is!!! :p
Yes it could be a finisher controller board problem. Normally when the machine starts up the finisher does "jog" the trays and cycles the rollers.
The first thing I would try would be doing a DC-CON CLR and see if it properly boots up after that. After that maybe try reloading the firmware. Are you getting any error codes?
