the scanner does not move in the 0/3 code and the exp lamp does not come on. sys board was take off of a working 557, reset all chips at least twice,and hard drive and firmware has been replaced......
have a tosh 557 with a scanner response abnormality ( f-111). the book leads us to the sys board and main board, we replaced both. also tried the power supply , hard drive and scanner driver board....
put it in one of the power save modes, I think that will work.
you can flip the drum end for trouble shooting, if I remember right.
I once had someone break into my shop, so they could bring back a sharp 2020.

if this is similar to a 455, then check the black plastic actuator for excessive wear. they get worn down to a sharp point and need to be replaced.

after 24 hours and a couple of re-boots the stupid thing is working ok now..
we've got a 556 that advances the web in the test mode but it appears it's not advancing during a typical copy run. I've changed out the fuser unit and has no effect on the problem. has anyone seen...

most of our 556-656's have between 1 million and 3 million, a few at almost 4 million.
we still see this problem on occasion. make sure the duplex unit is turning freely, clean all rollers and check all idler rollers, replace 3 transport clutches on feed units if needed. replace black...
