when you can't get in service mode try to restart mfp and try again, then go into sm and choose Copier/function/clear/pwd/ok
after restart you should get into user settings

First try latest firmware but this looks like wrong loop at registration... clean or replace the registration clutch

Sometimes it works when you shake the new drum-unit otherwise you can try with a piece of paper to clean the area between drum and skimming blade
