My guess is GMail smtp will stop working on machines pretty soon

Good afternoon all.
I'm sourcing the market for a cheap desktop MFP for my boss, who doesn't print very much (I doubt she'll ever reach 500 pages per month). But she scans a lot, and a duplexing...
Is that punishment? I thought it was how everyone's drinking it in the biz...
If you're going to spend money anyway, you've got nothing to lose by letting the machine sit idle while turned on for a while and then print out a couple hundred of color pages to see if it recovers.
Maybe you're not wrong - I'm not near the machine, and they only call me when it jams
I believe that simply buying a particle shredder instead of a paper strip one will decrease the jams as the...
Hello all.
I'm shopping for a paper shredder for my current company. I have some experience with them, but not much.
Is there something I should look for? I'm looking for a cheap-ish low volume...
Yeah, I'd also place my bet on the PCU. Also, why was the PCU replaced so soon? It's supposed to last around 45k pages...
Then I'd suggest taking out the laser unit and looking down on the hole through which the laser shines down onto the drum - I'd wager something's stuck there, blocking the path.
When you took out the laser unit, did you take a peek at the slit on the machine body and could you see the drum without any problem?
Take out the toner bottle and push the small white stub held by a screw on the backside (follow the red curved arrow) so the chuck will pop out (the straight red arrow). If in doubt, post here a...
Does it make any difference when scanning from the glass or from the feeder?
That's an heavily compressed document - those are compression artifacts.
You might be able to see them on the computer screen if you change your viewing angle (try looking at the screen from the...
Does it happen on *every* print job?
If not, some aplications (MS Office, Acrobat Reader) might ignore the driver settings and send their own paper formats.
Have you tried it like this?

Yep, that was one of the sensors I was talking about - I think it is similar to the one on the developing unit - if you don't have a spare and if they're alike and the connectors are the same, maybe...
Also, and first: Make sure this part is opened before inserting the bottle.

Check if the density sensor under the drum is covered in toner. Also, there's a density sensor on the toner hopper that might be disconnected or failing.
My experience from my time on the field:
Pros:
- Easier to work on
- Parts are generally more accessible inside the machine compared to smaller MFPs
- Service modes usually have more options...
I loathe DRM games with all my strength. So GOG is the only game store I spend money in, knowing I can (and I do) download the game installers and keep them safe - if the store ever goes bust, I...
If you're a fan of the first two Robocop movies, this game is a must-have.
I was in basic school when I first saw a computer firsthand - it was a sinclair zx spectrum running Horace goes skying.
I cast a vote towards calling it "Teh frimware request area"
A possible solution for that is to replace the aftermarket toner with an OEM one and then take about 40 A3/DLT skyshots to force the complete refresh of the toner in the developer. I've done it...
And yes: non-original toner could cause that (not that it's forcibly your problem, but don't discard the possibility yet).
