Thanks for the help all, but we solved the problem by leasing a new machine with service included - yay all around! (thread about that here)
So now it's one less amateur to get in your hair with...
Hi all!
Thanks for all the input - we've settled on the C454e. Judging from the comments here, the MFP features and the price, it seemed the best combination – especially since we have an SLA and...
Which sounds odd to me – colour fidelity seems like one of those things that ought to become better with each iteration of printers, no? (Not questioning you, it just seems backwards from my...
Thanks for your comments and opinions.
I've checked the specs and they're quite similar. On specs I'd go for the C300i/C458 for the lower power consumption & 20 sheet booklet folder, but as you...
Having battled with our C451 for a year I'm admitting defeat and swallowing whatever pride I have left, and will get a new machine. This time with a service agreement so that I can hand any problems...
Hiyall, thanks for the replies.
I'll pipe up since I'm poking this machine as well.
Consumable status print shows:
Imaging unit C: 1963
Imaging unit M: 1510
Imaging unit Y: 1491
I imagine that they're prone to disappearing…
But it's nothing more than a flexible flat piece of plastic with a pad on it as far as I can tell, so we ought to be able to make one ourself on the...
Haven't checked the transfer belt yet – I'll put that on next weeks todo.
As for the tool, I know where it's supposed to be but it's missing. (That other clamp-like tool is still there though).
...
Thanks for the advice all, much appreciated.
> Clean the lasers with the Konica provided tool.
The supplied tool is missing, but we improvised one and it seems to have helped a bit. We're going...
Our beleaguered C451 started to display two faults with K prints lately, and I'm trying to figure out what's up. (I'm not a tech, but we're a poor non-profit so I end up doing light tech stuff)
...
Looks like a ID10t error - I missed the porn popup used to get to the download. Downloading right now at a miserly throttled speed.
I tried a link I found in another post here, but no luck.
If anyone has a SM for KM C451 I'd be much obliged – been trying to find where the sensors on the trays are located to no avail…
Cheers...
Nope, that happened last week, and people kept mashing the trays to get them to close…
Just checked – no visible paper behind the trays. But maybe last weeks jams bent or mangled something back...
You wouldn't have an image or illustration of how the sensor might look? I'm not sure what to look for. In the FSM (40Mb PDF) on page ≈620 there are images showing the tray, but I don't see anything...
Thanks for the quick reply! I looked through the FSM but couldn't find where the tray sensor is located, so I just poked around a bit – jiggling bits and trying different papers and orientations –...
Good evening all!
Returning after the weekend I'm guessing some of our users poked the wrong thing on our C451 and now I can't set the paper size for tray 2 - it won't use the tray at all right...
Thought I'd follow up with an update. Tech was by yesterday and today and for now we have a replacement cyan IU. The working theory is that the cyan IU causes an error in the black IU when it's...
Hi all,
Many thanks for the suggestions - much appreciated.
I'm at this moment waiting for the shops tech to give me a ring to book service - let's see if today is the day. Since this was a DOA...
Hi,
Thanks for the suggestions!
> or a light leak, did they move the machine near a window?
The machine is not standing in direct light right now – can't speak to where it stood previously....
Good afternoon all,
We just bought a refurb C451 with a folder/stapler, and I've been having some trouble which perhaps you recognise.
BW prints seem to come out fine, but whenever I print...
