Just making sure you're using bypass tray?
Also, is it plain paper, glossy, etc?
If fuser isn't worn out, its paper settings issue.

Just do a full reset of machine itself and reinstall driver.
If copy is fine but printouts and scans are malfed, probably PC/driver issue.

So after pressing the power button, power indicator shortly blinks green once, for really short time, few ms, and then machine shows no sign of life.

Thought so as well. Seems like they're terrible, only thing they tried was reset tool that isn't working. I don't have access to KM resources, I guess I'd do much better than them.

Printer properties - driver, make sure it's set to UFR II. If it's windows 10 it tends to pull generic driver initially.
