Try using a 1515 PCU you will ave to remove the one plastic pin on the copier then it will fit and you wont have to deal with crappy 301 PCUs. Its what I do and I get full life from them.

Replace the pump, its a common problem. I only carry the k pump, it will work for the color
As far as the bearings go you will know if there bad you will hear a thumping sound. Try cleaning the DRESS sensor its on the left side of the carriage if its dirty you will have loading problems
Don't waste your time cleaning it, its a cheap part just replace it and if it has a fan then just transfer the old one to the new part. no need to update FW unless there is a problem
look at the PTR assy I have had some laser codes from a defective assy on other color boxes
check the TSBs ricoh had a run of bad barrings for the carriage and paper feed they were giving replacement parts free.
Gotta love that so called catch tray
replace the HDD
you wash your hands before you pee
just had the same problem clean the print-head if it dont get better then flush
Try cleaning the DRESS sensor it is on the left side of the carriage, it will solve a lot of loading issues.
HDD if it has one
I had a similar problem and I cleared the print memory it took care of the problem. Its in the 5s in SP mode
79:04 is almost always a printhead problem, you should start there.
Check the paper sensor and also clean the encoder wheel, it is located on the left under a small door that you will have to remove.
You are now the proud owner of a boat anchor. The carriage is bad and not available from HP. If you can find a used one it will still be a crap shoot as to if or how long it will work for you. You...
The 1055 is faster and has more options, but some parts are not available from HP so I would stay away from it. The 800 is a very good plotter and they last a long time, parts are readily available...
What error code are you getting. If it is not a printhead path error then its not the belt. I would do a paper advance calibration.
Google is your friend
Sounds like a carriage or trailing cable issue. But first I would check the tubes to make sure there is no air in the lines, if there is you can purge the tubes using set up printheads. If there is...
There are two connectors for the ink station one for the motor and the other for the sensor. If there are no unused connections on the interconnect PCB look on the ink station.
I would just reset the code and replace the parts as needed.
Generic error codes such as 79:04 are almost always a printhead issue, you will need to replace the bad printhead.
