Re: Canon class action lawsuit? LOL.. good luck

Just as bad or worse were those cheap portable typewriters. Heck the blasted things cost less than a service call to check them out. And yes I had quite a fun time when the customer paid for an...

  3. Re: What is the dumbist customer comment/question you've heard?

Weirdly I got an email notice about this thread this afternoon. And I was going to stop in and post about a really dumb customer , ah ex-customer, I ran into at the store the other day. I retired...
  4. Re: How do I turn email notifications off for this message board?

Actually I just read an email for another thread notice . And guess what right there at the bottom of the email is a link to "unsubscribe from all threads" Just didn't read the emails when i...
  5. Re: How do I turn email notifications off for this message board?

I used to be fairly active here and in the actual tech forums, but not as frequent a visitor lately. I still get occacional emails telling me there has been a reply to some threads I have not read...

    Re: Venting...

It isn't just copier repairmen they do it too. Imagine the fun of trying to explain to a less than intelligent person that before you can actually use an electric typewriter you have to plug it in....

Re: I need to vent a little

Probably not a very good idea. Too many times there were repeat calls on copiers for the simple "waste toner full" calls. Or even one person in the office replaces toner and puts empty toner...

Re: I need to vent a little

Oh there were a few light bars that went bad or had cracked glass shields and we replaced them when they were. But I usually did a quick printout of the machine specifications and if it had no lines...

Re: I need to vent a little

It's been a while but we had the same problem with fax machines sending lines to every other fax they send to. Had a few that by the second thirty minute drive to get there and clean white out or...
  11. Re: What is the dumbist customer comment/question you've heard?

And for another real good dumb question that was brought to mind the afternoon. There used to be on the IBM wheelwriters a key that allowed typing in a language other than english. Hit the code key...

Re: Have you read a good book lately ?

Saw a reboot of an earlier PBS series this weekend. And I just may have to find that series of books it is based on. It is the story of a country vet in Yorkshire England. The name of the series...

Re: Any old old school copier techs here?

No There is a dial in a brown square on the left front of the copier. That had I believe preset copy enlargement/reduction ratios. The dial on the cartridge was in a tiny window/port so the...

Re: Any old old school copier techs here?

Don't think I ever replaced the scanner drive in one of them. But we could get remanufactured or wholesale machines for really good prices so instead of putting a lot of time into one rebuilding it...

Re: Any old old school copier techs here?

I think the PC and NP lines were used by Canon to determine where the copiers were sold. The PC lines were sold through wholesale business and the NP lines were sold through licensed dealers. For...

Re: Any old old school copier techs here?

Had to look them up but yes the box had a dial. Great little machines for light duty. But we had a few customers that ran through three toners in a month. Got so bad with one we had to pick it up...

Re: Any old old school copier techs here?

Way back when I started on the then new Canon pc20 and pc 25's I did a self-paced training course. The training back then on those was in our shop with a vcr and tv to watch the course-movie. And...

Re: Have you read a good book lately ?

It has been quite a while but I did find a whole lot of another author's books. You may or may not like the genre but the books are western novels. The author is Louis L'Amour. At one point a long...
