Yeap seen them too my beard kind of resembles the one on the left
Weirdly I got an email notice about this thread this afternoon. And I was going to stop in and post about a really dumb customer , ah ex-customer, I ran into at the store the other day. I retired...
Actually I just read an email for another thread notice . And guess what right there at the bottom of the email is a link to "unsubscribe from all threads" Just didn't read the emails when i...
I used to be fairly active here and in the actual tech forums, but not as frequent a visitor lately. I still get occacional emails telling me there has been a reply to some threads I have not read...
Depending on who your email service is from or what software you use you could use the spam filter and mark anything from here as spam . Then it goes into the spam folder without you seeing it.
It isn't just copier repairmen they do it too. Imagine the fun of trying to explain to a less than intelligent person that before you can actually use an electric typewriter you have to plug it in....
Probably not a very good idea. Too many times there were repeat calls on copiers for the simple "waste toner full" calls. Or even one person in the office replaces toner and puts empty toner...
Oh there were a few light bars that went bad or had cracked glass shields and we replaced them when they were. But I usually did a quick printout of the machine specifications and if it had no lines...
It's been a while but we had the same problem with fax machines sending lines to every other fax they send to. Had a few that by the second thirty minute drive to get there and clean white out or...
And for another real good dumb question that was brought to mind the afternoon. There used to be on the IBM wheelwriters a key that allowed typing in a language other than english. Hit the code key...
Saw a reboot of an earlier PBS series this weekend. And I just may have to find that series of books it is based on. It is the story of a country vet in Yorkshire England. The name of the series...
No There is a dial in a brown square on the left front of the copier. That had I believe preset copy enlargement/reduction ratios. The dial on the cartridge was in a tiny window/port so the...
Don't think I ever replaced the scanner drive in one of them. But we could get remanufactured or wholesale machines for really good prices so instead of putting a lot of time into one rebuilding it...
I think the PC and NP lines were used by Canon to determine where the copiers were sold. The PC lines were sold through wholesale business and the NP lines were sold through licensed dealers. For...
Had to look them up but yes the box had a dial. Great little machines for light duty. But we had a few customers that ran through three toners in a month. Got so bad with one we had to pick it up...
Way back when I started on the then new Canon pc20 and pc 25's I did a self-paced training course. The training back then on those was in our shop with a vcr and tv to watch the course-movie. And...
Oh yes been through that scenario quite a few times. I do get a kick out of seeing the office equipment they have on the old tv shows like "Colombo" Mainly because he is in a lot of scenes where he...
Just wanted to drop in and wish everyone a happy and safe New year.
Merry Christmas to you and all your family . Have a great day and relax
Quite a long time ago when I first started working on typewriters my territory was Miami Beach. And as part of the resort area there was a Playboy Club on the causeway to Miami Beach. And a Playboy...
It has been quite a while but I did find a whole lot of another author's books. You may or may not like the genre but the books are western novels. The author is Louis L'Amour. At one point a long...
Every now and then I grab one of the books I have to reread and always enjoy doing that. Last one was a nice series of sci-fi books , by Issac Asimov, the Foundation Series
Modem is brand new so no problem there, I did call tech support again and found out that part of the problem is the new security setup to protect the user information. I guess there have been a few...
I did think of that too. But my home phone is also part of the cable service and uses the modem also. Nice inexpensive phone service with unlimited long distance. that comes in handy since most of...
