you might not see it in the first, second, third use but in the long run you may encounter dirty (internal)machine ang some shortening of copy life of rollers

it might be the ribbon wire it might have a loose contact.

yap ur right alcohol dries rubber its much better to clean them with soap and water

or maybe just a shot the toner supply was low or don't supply much... or the mylars or paddles of the toner supply was not in good shape?

well there is a way to fix the LD anyway it's worth a try. un solder the LD on the LD board. remove screw and detach the LDs and clean them. toner particles get inside and this causes the SC 322/326....

please post if anything happen. good or bad. so we can all learn and help

maybe yes and no, try to clean or spray some contact cleaner on the ribbon wires and its connector on the LD board. it might do a trick.

Here in the Philippines we still have the Savin 780 /880 and still running fine in the copy centers.

I think teebee is right it is the charge roller I too had encountered this problem. Clean the charge roller or replace it.
