Well trained and behaved technician looking for a new home. Trained on Kyocera, Sharp, Canon and Ricoh machines. A+ Certified (from before they split off networking for the Net+), 10 years of...
Believe it or not, I've also seen the memory DIMM on the main board cause this.
I'd tend to agree with Neo's inital assessment. Look at the mag roller, and if it looks like it has lines on it, either clean it with the scour pad or (my personal choice) an emery pad.
As it turns out, a screw had backed out of one of the non-contact thermistors, so it was sitting out of place. Reseated it, cln'd them all to boot, and shazam, no more jamming on warmup. Thanks...
Thanks, Wazza. I'll give that a look next I'm there.
With Windows 7, I've found I also have to add SFUSVC.exe to the firewall exceptions. Sometimes. But I've got SFU up and running on several Win7 boxes, both 32 and 64 bit.
I have a customer with a MX-5500, about 2 years old with ~200k on it. Every morning, as it finishes warming up, it pops a POD1_N jam. It also does this whenever the machine is rebooted, or left open...

My advice would be to arrange for it to have an unfortunate, but fatal, accident. But the above post is a good backup plan.
Cool, glad that helped!
Did you try turning off dialtone detection? I've run into a few PBXes where the fax board refused to recognize their tone as a dial tone, and would assume the line was busy every time. I have seen...
Adding in commute time, about 10-12, 5 days a week.
I'd also take a good long look in the area of the blk dev unit.
Maybe I missed something... but v6.03 is pretty old, and I know a bunch of fixes were made for CQ weirdness in v9/9.01, including some new options for toner control, BW/Color usage balance, and AC...
Only real problem I have with them is they still have the old school B&W LCD interface. :)
Bad op panel dimm or bad memory dimm. I lean towards memory dimm, myself, had plenty of oddball issues cause by flaky memory.
Somewhat new to the site, been browsing it when I can't get my brain around something for a while, finally got off my duff and registered. Been a tech for about 10 years, and an "IT guy" for about...
