i have some Trouble with a Canon iR-ADV C5540 (+ Fiery ) & Uniflow.

We have ~200 Canon Devices with Uniflow working fine, but there is one with a fiery Controller.

But i like the printing quality of the 8100 :-)

Yes there is a firmeware update.
Update the Finisher Firmware to Ver. 01.160:04 (or later).

Or try: SP6143-001–015 with a higher/lower value.

Sometimes the Java Card can cause this Problem, even if its not in use.
If your Costumer has no Applications installed just remove the SD-Card.

Change SP 4-903 (ADS Level) from 252 to 180-190.
It lowers the gray-recognition, but if its no problem for the coustumer you dont see black lines anymore for a long time ;)

maybe a seal on development unit is defective...use oem toner and a new development unit ;)

I know the "problem", but i never had quality issures because of that. Seems not a real problem for me.

You can try to adjust the "ADS-Level"
SP 4-903 to 180-190.

MP2000 and MP2550: Yes, but you must change the upper cover of the DV Unit to use it.

Agree to the springs from the left hinge. You can stretch them and/or put something under the spring e.g. a washer (2,3,4...)

I have no experience with this problem, but try to explain your problem in a hardware store...i am shure they can help you?! e.g. add a stronger metal plate?

Its really SC 230. All connectors are double-checked...I suppose that the "new" Laser Unit / BCU are defective....
I don't see much other possibilities...

i have a problem with a ricoh mp3350 ( SC230).
When i print from pc or e.g. the logging data list the maschine makes a sc230, after the first page has completly passed the registration...

The actuators dont break completly...only a very small part of it.
Remove tray 1+2 and remove the actuator (its just clipped in) from tray two. Watch the side, where the actuator reach the sensor.

Bad/loose cable connection?
Sounds a little bit weird, but shake the maschine while making a copy.
(and/or check every cable connection :rolleyes:)
e.g. the copier dont recognize the document...

I know that problem on mpc 300.
If you uninstall the java platform or remove the sd card it dont freeze anymore...but no more java functions :rolleyes:

I know there is a problem with twain scan if the user authentication is turned on.
The user authentication block all ports/applications. But there is no way to use twain if its turned on..even if...

I forgot to say that the way i described is not a permanent solution. After 30-40K copies you have to do the same procedure again.
I know its annoying, but in my eyes the best way...
