After changing all those items and doing all the adj, and it still over tones, I would back up the address book and IP address, and do a sim 6-90, and reload the firmware, which sets the machine back...
I agree with all your comments above, don't add the extra cleaning roller kit, its just more junk to gum up and wear out
the rollers, or heat belts. Remember the MX2600 fusers, they had no cleaning...

I have had that error randomly show up on this series and found staples or paper clips laying on the scan board on the rear of the adf.

Yes we have had a lot of these lately, and most of them is caused by the slides bindng up when the fuser is suppose to open and close. I have tried to lube these with various grease or oil. it helps...

If this machine is in a dusty area, you may have dirty laser lenses
and mirrors, pull out the laser unit. Remove the cover and air clean
and wipe down the lenses and mirrors. It maybe just bad luck...
