In addition, I've set U087 to no.

On two machines, the error didn't repeat at all.

This is a very low cost machines for maintenance, so we charge about 140$ per 10000 pages.
a good compatible or remanufactured toner for the 40X0 should cost about 25-30$.

you are right, but i have seen (last one 2 days ago) a case where the page was copied in the same lenght, but horizontaly compressed to 50%.
this is a main board problem.

on this machine, the toner should have a 63mA fuse on the left side that resets the toner alarm.
if it doesn't work, you can go into the tech mode and reset it by using the following:...

is it just vertical or horizontal? or it is a ratio problem?

I have found that it happens many times that when you have a feed problem with tray 4, the problem is with a gear and pulley that is broken.
The Sharp P/N of the items are:
