i finally got the software installed using executable usb flash drive using fiery usb setup tool.

the trick, which does not make sense to me, is that the dip switches have to remain in the normal...

i may be mistaken but make sure the copier is connected and on when you try to load the disk.

your ghost image should also work.

i did the same with a fiery H1

there is a fiery clone tool...

on mine i put the first disc in the cd tray and turned the imagepass off.

then leave it in and turn the imagepass on.

it should boot from the disc and load.

it will direct you to install...

anybody know the procedure to reload the operating system on a FieryIC-405/Fiery X3ETY using a flash drive?

I still get installation timeout.

i tried installation of system software.

i connected my laptop to the fiery with a crossover cable.
made sure both dip switches were in the service mode. (both down)
powered up fiery...

i burned 2 disc iso.

turned out to be a slightly bent exit sensorbracket that did not allow flag to trip the sensor completely.

i have intermittent j32-01 code.

i replaced sensor and motor control board.

machine works for a while then code returns.

any suggestions?
