Remembering the days when we used to measure the nip width - don't work on Ricoh much these days, is that still a thing?
I enjoyed the thread especially for the idea of 20+ year tech's being considered oldies ;)
20 year techs are newbies to some of us
Hi Matt, was going from memory. Notification rather than bulletin, copied relevant text below.
"I want to inform you that rf IDEAS has just announced the end of life for the WAVE ID Plus...
Yes, slang in my country.
Did you check the device certificate as Slimslob suggested? Your video at 50 seconds shows ciphertext as priority and that needs a valid device certificate - you could...
Worth checking the optics/scan lamp/white reference and maybe run a continuous ping to see if it's dropping packets.
A long (long) time ago we used to splice into the fuser exit sensor and use that as a trigger for basic copy and print external counters. You already have a remote enable/disable in place so might...
Does this box have IP filtering?
Had this a few times when the charge is contaminated and arcs out - no charge on the drum surface which can empty the dev into the waste box in a couple of minutes. Poking a mag driver into the...
Not sure if it helps but Sharp released a bulletin a few days ago discontinuing the old L80CR80581 card reader and announcing a replacement (L80CR80531BKU).
Thanks bsm2, I did see that site but it's a bit out of date and doesn't have the later models.
Happy New Year everyone, hope you all had an enjoyable break.
Does anyone have a list of Kyocera models showing the Olivetti branded model number? There's an old thread on here from 2008 but...
The front usb port is connected to the correct usb socket on the controller? Just checking..
The two black lines, are they approx the drum circumference apart? I'd go with a new drum, cleaning blade and charge roller to start (vac out the drum unit and process area) and see from there.
Been a while since I worked on Ricoh kit but don't they have a 'pdf' element to the firmware? The old 'package' type updates were a pain because they didn't have all the elements. Might be worth...
Yes, that's the next step Notrons. Got another 3004 on it's way in to the workshop so plan to borrow the board for a test.
Thanks zed255 both set correctly. Btw, 5895-1 should be 0 not 1
Can someone help me reset the mileometer on my car please? I want to scam some poor smuck and sell a worn out piece of junk as 'ex dem'
No.
Only time I've seen this kind of thing was a hdd failing. Any SC860 range errors in the history?
MP5000 is a mono copier so developments/copy count is the same. A3 double count is the default on all our machines and rightly so.
Did them all copier tech. Package first as a base, then all others including the updated versions of the ones in the package, then cheetah and java.
Don't know whether it had a fiery at any time...
Strange one I've never seen before. Printer config page has no PCL language listed but shows postscript. Won't print from a PCL driver but happy with ps. Backed up nv ram, full data clear and...
Worth noting that the upper limit for plain paper on these machines is 60-81 g/m2, 16-21.6lb We have a number of clients who use 90gsm as their default stock and it's a pain on Ricoh kit. You can...
There's an option in the setup to stop printing when job limit is reached, not sure if that would hold or delete further jobs/printing? I think the default is delete but don't have a machine to hand...
I started in 85, working with the 'new' 10 series Xerox copiers including the dreadful 1048. Brasso metal polish was the popular way to clean drums back then.
