You didn't mention if you changed the transfer belt unless I missed it. Really the only thing left. I recently had one with first page defect and it was transfer belt.

You can find used Fiery's for under $500. But keep in mind to calibrate correctly you will still need a densitometer. If you don't need precise colors the calibration in the Fiery should be good...

When you said it was low on toner for awhile it may have depleted the developer in image unit starving...
