EASY! Its the spring on the feed roller. The spring acts as a clutch and has a habit of breaking. Replace the spring part no. HS5-2077-000 job done.

No not really because that sensor is purely for the cover open not paper jam.

Sounds like it must be a scanner problem. Check you have not knocked a mirror out of position, failing that it sounds like ccd or ip board.

The sensor for the lower l/h door is an photointerupter sensor which is actuated by the paper guide plate. It is PS 152 in parts manual located on the paper pick-up assy.

The paper empty sensors on the large decks are are a hollow upside down cone on this model and from experience have found they wear very quickly. And guess what-the part is not available on its own...
