    It may be the driver trying to "auto update" to a device that doesn't physically exist (the virtual printer). Switch the option off in the driver properties > accessories tab.

    What about using lpr from the command line? It does depend on the device you're trying to print on, but it'll be something like:
    lpr -S <printerIP> -P RAW -d <filepath\filename>

    Thanks for that, the MPC7500 is officially rated at 38 per minute for A3, so it's probably a little faster on the MPC7501 - I just can't find the official data anywhere though.
