  1. Re: HP Design Jet 4500 24:10 turns into power won't stay on.

Wow! sounds like a killer. I know the chances are slim that both of those cart's could be bad but on the other hand ink can't get into that air space unless the bag inside is broken. The ink...

Did you replace that yellow cartridge before you ran the broken bag recovery, and if you remove all the cartridges will the machine stay on? I would remove the ISS board and make sure that NO ink is...

    Re: UNION

Yeah it sucks being a cost point but I think we could improve our lot if we could unite in some way. I haven't seen my bosses or customers lifestyles affected by the cost of copier/printer service....

Oops take that back! just looked at another and I was completely wrong. IT could have been reassembled with the bushings missing, but this one has some slop in the bushings also. Was the back channel...

    Re: HP Designjet 500

If the machine is printing with all nozzles firing and it completes alignment and you still have jagged lines then the problem will be in the encoder sensor or a contaminated or damaged strip. I have...

    Re: HP Designjet 500

From the looks of your sample, the machine can't do a proper alignment due to all the jets that aren't firing in the black printhead. Clean or replace the black Printhead and run a new alignment.

This one is fixed! had to give it a new print head. The old one had almost 600 days on it so I decided to give it a shot.

    Re: UNION

Some very good points on both sides of the issue - although I don't think profanity helps to make any kind of point. I have also been anti union most of my life. No union ever did anything for me....

LOL! Nothing sounds too outrageous to try with this "lovely machine". I keep telling myself that we will get better with them as we learn more.
It does seem like Canon is also grasping at straws...

I would like to see printer/copier techs unionized. What do y'all think?

    Hey guys!
I was originally trained on Ozalid diazo machines. I know that many of you don't even know what that is. That's OK so much the better because they will never be relevant to a tech...
