OK cool thanks!
I've done the full calibration a few times, is there some reason doing it via the engine test would be different?
DC controller, that is something I hadn't thought of, that would be nice if that...
Have a customer with a PQ issue with an M551. I'll include a close up print sample.
Tried a couple sets of known good toners and a Xfer belt from another one of their machines. Ran full calibration...
ok yeah the drive motor is in the back mounted to the gear drive assembly, with a gear poking through into the inside, the reg slides in from the right side (remove PIU , then it pulls out).
...
Thanks sure thing! Just glad it's finally fixed, ugh!
I got it fixed a while back, the issue was my supplier sent me several bad registration assemblies, they must not have been testing their parts before selling them. I got one from another vendor and...
ok that's what I see, the sensors are in the reg. assembly, I've tried two and both print like this. It does it from T1, T2 and T3 the same. No jams, just starts the print too early on the leading...
isn't the flag/sensor on the reg assm? (and I swapped that part)
This is a weird one.
It starts laying down the print a bit before the leading edge of the paper reaches the toner drum. It does it with all trays, even tray one, so cannot be the PIU assembly....
I've heard a rubbing noise from a couple M570's, both times it was the transfer belt. In fact, almost every repair I've done on those ended up being the transfer belt (for IQ, noise, etc.)
This is so annoying....
Customer's unit said 'Transfer Roller needs replaced', power off, if error persists call for service.
Her belt cleaner was at zero too.
Replaced both.
OK, now supposed...
OK thanks, that does help :)
Hey I was cleaning a C3545, I noticed the actual rubber rollers on this shaft (see photo) aren't 'fixed' to the shaft, the spin free but not really free, almost like they used to be fixed on there...
Hmmm that's an interesting point....
Now I've gotten some gear assemblies from HP that had that blue sticky grease on it, that's what prompted me to post this...
I guess danged if we do, danged if...
cool thanks!
really? How can grease 'not' lower friction and reduce the wear on the plastic teeth?
OK cool, I'll try that, I was just worried about putting one on that later might ruin the swing gears, like slowly eat through or something, but if you've been using that with no issues, it sounds...
oh wow cool, and it won't hurt plastic? I'm thinking of the swing plate gears in like a 4345, so I don't have to go through replacing them for the longest time possible ;)
Would this be good and...
Anyone know what the blue/greenish colored sticky grease is you find on the gears in many HP machines and where maybe to get that stuff?
thanks
I usually dont work on these, but replaced the fuser for a customer, it's asking for a password to get into the menus, I assume that's who you reset the fuser count?
Thanks for any help!
OK, going to try that I think today, will post results,
Thanks everyone!
* I was suspicious of the black toner too. I do know some after market ones aren't so great, I do have quite a few customers using compatibles with no issues, but this might be a funky one. The belt...
Got one at a site, all looks perfect EXCEPT when the customer prints text in a darker 'color'. Example
Light red looks great, but dark red where is seems to mix black with magenta, you can see it...
I'll say me too, customer with 2 551's, every few months I have to go out and clean the transfer belts, then all good for a few months.
Bummer no ideas eh? Even 'where' this might originate? I'm thinking the board that reads the tray sensors?
