Re: HP M525 Close top feeder cover

Are you saying you replaced the wiring harness from the doc feeder to the machine?

I've seen those go bad a lot, and it's not always detectable with a meter.

    Re: Brother MFC9440 32 error

ok--on page eleven of that document, it shows the board I was talking about. On that board, there is a solenoid. I'd bet my right arm that the solenoid is sticking.

    Re: Brother MFC9440 32 error

There are a couple of 3x.x errors on these brothers that are related to solenoids inside the machine. I think this might be one of them. The pad on the solenoid gets sticky and the solenoid sticks....

[Jamming] Re: HP OfficeJet Pro x476dn Jamming

    The solution is easy:

    Trash.

These printers aren't meant to be fixed. Don't screw with the natural order of things, man.
  5. Re: HP T series plotters, belt pulley comes out

The pulley should come right out if the belt breaks. So they need a belt if they have a pulley in their hands. Unless they tried to take it apart and they broke the pulley or something.

    I don't...
  6. Re: LJ M506 stuck on supply memory error 10.00.01

I did not read all of your post. The chip reader is on a little spring. Make sure it is working. You might have to replace the chip reader. If you have another machine, you could swap to make...
  7. Re: LJ M506 stuck on supply memory error 10.00.01

    Defective toner ctg.

Probably. There's a little chip on the cartridge, and the machine has two little contacts that bump up against it. Chances are, it's a reman ctg, and the chip is bad. Or...

Re: Designjet 800, what are the odds?

BTW - the reason I say $200, is because if I go to the customer, and clean out their service station there at their place, it takes about two hours. So I just charge them 2 hours worth of labor for...

Re: Designjet 800, what are the odds?

When you move that stuff around, whatever was almost ready to break, breaks. The service station errors aren't related to the encoder. But here's how I handle service station error:

    I keep a...

[Error Code] Re: Hp designjet 4520 86-01 code

If the carriage has a lot of resistance, maybe. Usually, if you're replacing the belt, then you clean and lube the rail while you have it off. But it's probably the encoder strip.

    Re: HP CLJ 3505n

Pay attention to the gears that turn the shafts that push the ctgs up against the transfer unit. It's up by the fuser drive ass. There are two solenoid actuators. One for the color ctgs, one for...
  12. Re: HP M402 accordion jamming "in cartridge area"

You're gonna have to stop the printer in the middle of a job to find out where it's going bad. You'll probably have to do it quite a few times.

    Re: Hp cp4525

The sheer simplicity of the 4700 & 4600 series was brilliant. There's not a job on those machines that would take more than an hour. I'm sorry to see them leave. Just about as sorry to say goodbye...

HP Laserjet 2100 with 50013 error

I have a printer with intermittent problems. I have not actually caught it misbehaving, but in the history, I see 50013 and 30017.

I've searched everywhere and can't find actual documented...

    Re: HP plotter issue.

    That's a tough one.

I would agree with Kiran, to start with the assumption that you have a defective ctg.
  16. [Jamming] Re: HP LJ M3035sx Occasinal Noise coming from paper tray and occasional jamming

And yeah--you have to replace the PU assembly.
  17. [Jamming] Re: HP LJ M3035sx Occasinal Noise coming from paper tray and occasional jamming

Probably got something to do with the gear that drives the pickup assembly. The little bushing pops out and it's a pain to fix it--leave yourself a couple hours the first time. I think so, anyway. ...

[Jamming] Re: Pro 400 Color M451nw

Do those machines have a error history? I'd be interested to know about the jam code. And if it does it from all the paper drawers.

Just looking through the manual quickly, here're a few danlgers that could easily get missed... could be any one of them.

[Error Code] Re: CP3525DN "Close Front or Right Doors" Error

If it's behaving the way it's supposed to at the connector (one of the voltages goes on and off when the switch is activated/deactivated) then it's a DC controller problem. But that's not likely. ...

[Error Code] Re: CP3525DN "Close Front or Right Doors" Error

[Error Code] Re: CP3525DN "Close Front or Right Doors" Error

I'm not looking at the machine--just the SM. But I would think J118 would have 3 wires going to it (or two, at least). If three: one should be 0, one 5 v, and one changes from 5 to 0 when the...

[Error Code] Re: CP3525DN "Close Front or Right Doors" Error

I wonder if you can check the connections between the dc controller and the switch. Like, maybe one of the wires broke underneath the insulation and you can't see it.

    Re: T1200 MFP printer/scanner question

I didn't know about the 86:01. If I had, I would have assumed the technician caused this. I wonder if it happened this way:

They see the 86:01 and it's described as a "paper jam." So they think...

It would be cool if that could be tested and documented. It's my opinion (that's right--it's just an opinion and I have absolutely no way to give evidence for or against, and don't in any way...
