[Error Code] Re: HP DESIGNJET Z5400 error 8:11

Give the folks at LPS Computer a call and describe the the whole thing to their tech department. 800-959-1575

I'd say you need a known good formatter with the hard drive on it that has NOT been...
  2. Re: T1300 Rev. B hangs at 1% then throws up 08:11, only formatter LED light I is "on"

Per the service manual, you can not replace just the hard drive on a Rev B. "If you try to insert a previously used hard disk drive, the product displays a System Error
    and will not start...

    Re: Designjet T1300 Ink issue

It happens. The only other thing you can try is put the cartridges in another printer and see if they behave differently.

    Re: Designjet 510, broken latch

HP only supplies that part as part of the entire spindle assembly. 24" is C7770-60094 the 42" is C7770-60005. LPS has them for $66 and $80, respectively.

Or you can usually find just the blue...

Re: HP Design Jet T1120PS blank display

I'd try another hard drive first.. LPS Computer carries them. Then try another electronics module (with the PSU), then another formatter. At least with LPS if one part doesn't solve it you can send...

    Re: Designjet T1300 Ink issue

Remove all of the inks and then insert the grey cartridge and see if they get the same result. It may be a problem with a neighbor cartridge.

I would also update the firmware if it's not up to...

    Re: Designjet 510, broken latch

If they leave that purple latch out (unlatched) and close the cover, the carriage bangs it into the arch on the right and then shows an error that the carriage latch is open. I think this is what...

    Re: Diagnose my printhead problem

That's interesting. My concern with something like that is that the hose it's pushed into, is unlikely to seal well when put back together. You'd probably have to epoxy it in. That's if you can take...

    Re: Diagnose my printhead problem

LPS sells a syringe specifically for priming or removing the air from the tubes.

    Designjet Store

If it's a little bubble, you can probably ignore it. If there's large sections of the tube...

    Re: HP DESIGNJET 500

This is indeed a problem with the 500s. It has something to do with the way the printer reads the date code on the printheads. I spent 2 weeks going back and forth with HP over a 500 not accepting...

[Jamming] Re: HPDJ 5500 Check paper path 1 message.

I don't recommend using petroleum lubricants like 3-in-1 oil on something with plastic parts. The oil will dissolve the plastic bushings in the carriage.

The more I thought about this, I'm...

    Re: HP DJ T3500

I very much dislike these printers and the unified printhead they use.

Make sure the firmware is up to date. Latest is AENEAS_03_10_01.1

Did you moisten the tube septums with water before...

    Re: Diagnose my printhead problem

I agree with D Hook; you likely have air in the tube(s). You can use a syringe to suck some ink out and remove the air, but unless you print every day, it will just come back. Replacing the tube...

  18. Re: Anyone successfully clone a Designjet hard drive?

I've used SelfImage to clone drives from Designjets. However, the 5000 is unique in that you can put a blank hard drive in and prepare it via the front panel, and using a PC to upload the firmware...

[Error Code] Re: HP DESIGNJET Z5400 error 8:11

And, I apologize, I should have paid more attention to the model number. Did you follow the directions in the service manual for troubleshooting the 08:11 error using the formatter LEDs?

[Error Code] Re: HP DESIGNJET Z5400 error 8:11

I'm sorry the EMOD didn't take care of it. I would have bet money on that fixing it. You may have an actual bad control panel then.. or the ribbon cable is damaged.

    Re: HP OR EPSON

Depends what you're printing and what the final use will be. Based on the two models it sounds like you're printing CAD/GIS.

Also do you need Postscript? If you're not printing from a Mac, you...

[Misc] Re: Black strip on copy plotter HP T2300ps

Weird. HP will let you order it but it shows on back-order. I don't know what the wait would be. I hope this isn't an indication that they're all failing.

  23. Re: HP Designjet T2300 disjointed vertical lines

I realized the pictures of the motor I posted are unlike the motor on the T2300; it uses a different thicker belt, but it's still important to make sure the spindle is clean.

    I just had a customer...
  24. Re: HP Designjet T2300 disjointed vertical lines

Did you clean the spindle on the motor that the belt goes around?

    Good:

It might be a bad motor but I've never once had to replace one.
