    MX2314 C4-00

Just wondering if anybody else has had an issue with a machine throwing an error code C4-00.

We have replaced the PTC Unit which made no difference.

My tech who fitted the new PTC noticed that the Y,M&C drums aren't cleaning properly, Could this be contributing to the error code?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi

You could try a crop 16 if you haven't already.

Put the machine in to COPY - Note nothing will happen until you have gone through step 2.
    · Then press # STAR C STAR
    · It will come up with TEST SIMULATION and will ask you to key in a number , can you input the number 16
    · Press the COPY/START key
    · An option to Execute will appear , press this
    · It will ask if you are sure , select YES
    · Press the C/A button and this will take you back to the main menu.

The machine then should turn itself off and reboot back up clearing the error.

If you could let me know how you get on that would be great.

its better to backup data using sim 56-2/3 before executing a sim 16 because it can erase data. also check the connecting spring between ptc and ptc pwb.

Also a tech tip, was released about the clutches for engaging , disengaging the primary transfer belt can also cause a C4-00 , the clutches may work in sim mode but not in normal op and a error code may not show.

Have run into image quality issues and the transfer belt clutches were faulty and not showing error, belt moved just enough to hit sensor but not enough to move transfer rollers.

Will this procedure make a difference? The error is cleared when we just restart the machine normally. When the next print job is sent the error comes back when the first page reaches the transfer belt.

as faxman28 mentioned this seems to be the transfer belt clutches. (pg section 51, item 20) replace both of them or test using another transfer belt and see if the error replicates.

    Just an update.

I tried another transfer belt and the fault came back, also replaced the clutch which also made no difference.

Will try the TC PWB mentioned in bulletin that Spanky posted.

yeah that code came up on a similar mfd for me.
    changed ptc error camed back.
changing tc pwb worked like a charm. make sure the part no is at least ending in p1 or p2.
tc pwb is behind dc pwb. you have to remove both back covers and the top right hand side cover. two screws to remove dc pwb. i managed to slide the dc pwb down to replace tc pwb which is easier . Good luck !

We have had this board out to have a look at it and can confirm it is one without the zeners. Just can't remember if it is the P1 or the PZ.

The only problem i have with ordering the part is it is on backorder until 13/8 i think.
