Sharp AR-M257 setting own name on Fax Header for outbound transmissions

    Hello all,

I have a client who has a Sharp AR-m257 that has an incorrect name when sending faxes on the header of the page.

They are a medical office and for insurance purposes they need that to be changed.

I attempted to access the device's GUI, but I saw no option for "Own name" or "Fax Header" or anything similar to that

I have some newer Sharps here in the office where I am able to register my own name through the system settings, but I am unable to find any guide showing me how to do it on this older machine

Does anyone know how to do this? Any help I would greatly appreciate!

    Thanks

Try this. Touch custom settings, then login as the key operator. Touch fax settings, then default settings. You should find it there.

    Thats really helpful, thank you.

I'm honestly not too familiar with Key Operator login info, from what I've read in a search is that it is a number that is set up and must be remembered like a pass code, and that is is defaulted to five 0s.

If the machine was previously working with different headers, I would assume the default Key Operator # had to have been changed. If this is the case is there an easy way to reset it and retain the rest of the customer's settings?

TC 22-7 will give the current Key Operator number.

I'm also not sure what to make of this.

I would like to introduce you to the service manual. It tells you how to operate the service modes. All it requires is reading skills, and the willingness to read.

Buy a manual. Read it. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I get your mindset here, but let me be clear in that I searched for the meaning before wandering back in here for help. Trust me, I don't want anyone to hold my hand. I was not able to get the information needed through my search. I'm willing to do it again, but it seemed like I was missing something

    Nice schtick

Sorry Sir. After a while you may discover that you, too, are dis-inclined to read manuals for those that unwilling to do it for themselves. =^..^=

I understand. I'm going through the manual and I believe I found what was mentioned as TC 22-7 and learning what that means
