Plastic Cellophane looking substance around fuser-in middle of job

I am running a long job on my Sharp MX-2700N.

I am using digital gloss paper.

After a jam, I noticed what appears to be cellophane wrapped several times around my fuser roller (the hot one).

Is this from the paper or the long job? Is the "cellophane" part of the roller and should be smoothed out as best as possible with a soft rag or is it foreign and should be removed after machine has cooled?

That there is actually part of roller had one look just like it.. It would still perform but we went and replaced with new MX 270FU1 rebuild would be more costly

Yes, that "cellophane" is part of the pressure roller that has separated. Once it starts wrinkling, it will give your copies an interesting texture and sometimes not fusing in the wrinkles.

Though it seems intuitive to trim off that sleeve, it doesn't work out well. The teflon sleeve prevents the toner from sticking to the roller, so what does it do? It sticks, and reprints on your images. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

if theres no flat spots on the upper heat roller and looking good ,

then just replace with the mx270lh or the spare part version. this always happens with the roller fusers over time.
