    Sharp 2301N fuser

    Hi.

How to check which roller need replacing when I have thumping noise?
How do you know is it upper or lower roller bad?

Can I replace just roller to avoid this noise?

Do I need put any oil on new roller? If yes what oil do you recommend?

    Regrads

Remove pressure roller first, and roll it on a flat surface; you'll be able to tell if it has a flat spot (most likely roller for flat spot).
No oil is required when replacing fuser rollers.
The newer machines will get that flat spot if the copier is not turn off properly. The panel power switch off first, then the main
switch after the display panel is blank after 4-5 seconds; this will allow the fuser roller release to do it's function.
If the customer is just pulling the power plug out of the wall, it is like pulling the AC cord on your PC without shutting
down first - you don't know what damage might have been done.

    Thank you ZOOTECH.

Sharp recommend 20sec on A4 mfps (c381 etc.)

Is this roller (for 2301N) compatible with Sharp 2600,3100 (MX-310LH)?

    I believe it is.

Are you talking about the ticking noise?

You're going to hate this but it works. Get Molykote HP-500 high temperature grease (part # UKOG0235FCZZ). There are small tubes, so you will only get a few fuser treatments from each tube.

Disassemble the fuser. Grease the contact surfaces between the driven roller and its bearings, and the non-driven roller and its bearings. Re-assemble the fuser. You won't be able to adequately lubricate the surfaces without disassembly. Don't get any grease on the heat lamps or they may blow.

The good news it that it will last the whole PM cycle without ticking. Just save yourself some time and lubricate the bearing surfaces when you are rebuilding the fuser.

I have had very little problems with the ticking since I've started doing this at the rebuild. Sharp came up with some kind spray lubricant, but I could not bring myself to use it. It's just too risky spraying lubricant near the ends of the roller. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Blackcat that is very interesting (I maytry it in the future) but I have thumping noise typical for flat spot.

mx2301n/mx2600n series has pressure release for fuser, there shouldn't be any flat spots. thumping noise is either the metal cleaning roller that rides on top of pressure roller or fuser bearings. If roller is flat spotted then you have problem in pressure release drive, but you should get L4-16.

I did not have any error before.
In my case it was upper roller which I replaced with brand new genuine one. After that I installed fuser unit (without screws) and machine displayed L4-16 error. I removed it and installed again (probably I did not put it properly). No errors occurs but machine need about 5 minutes to worm up. Is it normal behavior? When I turn it off fully and on again worm up time is short but after few hours it need again 5 minutes to worm up.
