Sharp AR-507 Developer Housing Setup

I replaced the mag roller, drive gears and developer but solids look patchy. I have tried manually adjusting the trimmer bar gap and magnet angle to various settings with the same result with some gritty bead carryout as well. What are the adjustments to get this machine producing those great solids Sharp is so well known for?

I have attached the spec's for the doctor blade adjustment. How many copies on the drum? Did you put in a AR-505KA1 maint. kit? Replace carona wires? Also the DSD collars on the DV unit can wear and cause issues. Make sure you run the developer adjustment in simulation.

I haven't ever tried adjusting the S-blade on a Sharp.

I've adjusted doctor blades on several different manufacturer's equipment. It was manageable on the Mita machines back when the particle size was considerably larger. I've adjusted a few Canons but with monocomponent the proper gap is pretty difficult to get. By the time I got to Sharp, I've come to the conclusion that I'm only going to make it worse (unless someone has already been screwing with it).

I have to agree with mtech. There are a lot of other factors affecting quality than S-blade adjustment. If you've got new developer, new drum, blade, corona wires, clean optics, only then would I consider adjusting gamma 46-18.

Sorry I forgot the attachment. Some imagers came with the dv gap too tight on the rear frame side right out of the box. As Black cat said someone may have messed with it. You should get it back to spec. (you will need a feeler gauge)

A picture is worth a thousand words. I had the "D" shaft on the mag roller about 180 out. The copies look great now thanks to your input.
