    add paper to tray 1

I have got a MX-C402SC that says "add paper to tray 1" . The reason is because the tray won't lift . Now CLUM the lift up motor for tray 1 works in test mode and CSPD1 is the sensor that signals the lift motor
also functions properly in test mode . I have changed both and tried them in tray 2 and they work fine I have also changed the PCU board and the cassette but no lift. Any help would be appreciated.

Lots of bad sensors in these machines. For no lift I have found CPED1 to be bad. It should change state in test mode. Check this bulletin MFP-TB-1025. Good Luck

The upper limit sensor for the tray is bad. Replace it and you will get lift.

Could it be one of those lovely Sharp 73 photointerrupters that have worked so well in the past? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

I replaced the upper limit and paper out detectors and yes they are the same sharp detectors that fail in other Sharp mfp's
    Thanks for the help.
