    MX-C401 double imaging/ ghosting

Hi everyone! I've had this account for awhile now and read tips from these forums many of times that has helped me a lot throughout the years. This is my very first post and wanna see if you guys have any idea or experienced this problem. I'm working on a SHARP MX-C401 and the pages are coming out with the image double and repeating its self over and over on the page. I see the image is still on the upper heat roller and it's not cleaning off. I can run 10 blank copies and the image will clean off but when you print or copy it will leave the image on the fuser and it will double image/ ghost over and over. I have replaced the fuser unit MX-C32FU1 but does the same thing.

    Thanks,
    Aaron

What media type are you using? What media type is set on the machine? Are you getting fixing pressure errors? =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Just plain 8 1/2 x 11 20lb in the 1st tray which is also set to plain. I'm not getting any service codes. I was looking towards the pressure system, there are no gears that work the pressure just one gear that drives the fuser.

Using plain 8 1/2 X 11 20lb. The 1st tray is also set to plain paper. I was looking towards the fuser pressure, but it doesn't have a gear that adjusts the pressure, there is just one gear on the fuser unit that drives the rollers.

I have seen this when using an aftermarket toner.

It does not fuse properly and sticks to the fuser roller.

Does it do this if you print a different color other than black.

Have you tried to adjust fuser temp using sim 43?

    Re: MX-C401 double imaging/ ghosting

Thank you everyone for replying back and all your help. Yes I did try printing self colors and it would only do it on black. Yes I did go through all fuser settings In 43 and made sure they were all set at default. I replaced the black DV , simple lol that was it! I was so set in my mind and going after the fuser unit thinking it was something wrong with the pressure. Thank you "Spanky" you had the problem with after market toner not fusing properly and that clicked in my head that it could be the toner or developer and it was the developer. Thank you everyone for all your help. Appreciate it!

Most likely, based off what you have said, you need to replace the hot roller. The second thing that can cause this is the Blade that cleans the drum. If its not scraping off the toner it will leave the double image. Least likely would be drum needs to be replaced.
