    mx 5070

have a Sharp MX5070 that while idle will go into a jam.The jam code is FIN_ERR.which as sharp says it is a communication jam.I have replaced the Finisher board and the PCU and did firmware. You can open the left door and close it and it resets.Sometimes if you send a print job it will sit and sit till you open the right door and close it.I even checked the jam sensors took a picture of what is normal as sensor are on of off and compaired to what I took.It is not a sensor jam, meaning no difference in sensor normal or when it shows a jam.Sharp is no help on this.we are a dealer, just wanted to see if anyone has this issue with FIN_ERR.thanks

I have found finisher communication issues can becaused by the actuator for the top tray position sensor not moving fast enough. I move the sensor a little closer so theactuator is required a smaller movement between on amd off.

5070 doesn't have an SD card. Maybe you meant mSATA?

Weird thing on mine is I switched finisher with one from shop and both machines and finishers have been working fine since. Bad news I need to switch them back out. Sharp says connections and firmware.

    Hi All

I'm glad I have found this thread on here. I have a Phoenix with the same error code which is very intermittent & I'm finding impossible to replicate when onsite. Is the msata the cause for this?

Thanks for your help in advance
