    error code L4 - 31

I've recieved by power on the error code: L4 - 31.
After reading......I understood one or two paper cooling fan, and located both fans (open right door, at the top)

Also: Run sim 6-2 to check if the fans are connected.
Maybe stupid, but.....how to start the sim test programs?
I read into the technical manual: press "code mode key", then "Program key", then "*", then "clear key", then "*", then your sim program.
This is absolutely chinese for me..... (and I am dutch)

none of the keys are responding, because a error message: call technical service, code L4-31

Is somebody able to explain that to me in normal words how to reach the sim test programs??
were is the "code mode key"? item 2 in picture, see attached image
    were is the "program key"
    And the "* " is item 8 ??? ( see picture)
And clear is item 5 ???

    thanks in advance !

    Thank you so much !!!
    I found it.

And also both fans are not running. I opened the back cover, and checked the HDD fan, but that one is running well.

Strange, I expected one fan dead, but two? tomorrow I'll check this, maybe a loose wire or connector.
So, I will remove the paper cooling fans tomorrow, and if they are faulty, see if they are available somewere.

    Thanks again for the hints!

    Wim.

All the fans are the same. So if you have a parts machine you can use them.

It is not unusual for both fans (above the fuser) to fail soon one after the other, but at same time - a bit unusual. It is best to replace both at the same time if only one fails.
Your English, by the way, is better than some that are native English speakers, IMHO.

    Hint:
How to reduce the noise/vibration with cooling fans :
If you want to prevent CPU cooling fans or similar fans from vibrating and creating a noise, remove the metal based sticker/label from the center of the rotory blades. The label glue becomes soft and moves the label off center creating just enough vibration and noise to reduce the life of the fan. I have proved this to many associates over the years. Those assocates complain of noisy CPU or video card fans where I have no such problems.

I don't know how much time it will buy you but those fans can be disassembled.

When you remove the round sticker there is a plastic retaining "C" ring on the motor shaft. with that removed you can slide the fan blades off, then lubricate the bearings. Mine were generating a cloud of iron oxide dust. A few drops of light oil and some manual spinning got that fan back up and running. And yes, both fans quit within 3 weeks of each other. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.
