    Sharp MX 2640 Smtp error

    I have two MX 2640 set up to use office 365, just migrated from exchange on premises to cloud.
    Reset smtp settings to use smtp.office365.com port 587. Both pass connection test to exchange mailbox.
    one however creates a network timeout error during scan to email process. the other is fine and sends through to recipient mailbox.
    I have tried increasing timeout to 60 seconds, but the machine with the timeout error still errors.

    I think you have to create a SMTP relay in the admin panel for office 365.
    Evil will always triumph because good is dumb.

    Try Sharp Tech Tip TT-063015_2

    When scanning to E-mail using Microsoft Office 365, the machine displays a connection error.
    Cause: The Reply E-mail address is not in the proper format.
    Solution: When scanning to Microsoft Office 365 the Reply E-mail Address should be enclosed in angle (< >) brackets.The Replay E-mail Address can be changed using the following steps:
    1. Log in to the machine’s Web interface as the Administrator.
    2. Select System Settings
    3. Choose Image Send
    4. Then select Scan Settings
    5. Under the Scan Settings Tab enter the Reply E-Mail Address with angle brackets. <anyone@anycompany.com>

    Thanks subvet - found the old EX address was still in the scan settings reply e-mail address
