How to change Admin password back to factory (admin) MX-3140N

I have a customer that had an IT administrator that they no longer employ and they had changed the admin password on an MX-3140N,so I cant access it to make changes to it. Is there a way to set it back to the default (admin) setting?

    Try a full HDD format.

    Hello,

    The short answer is Yes.

Unlike the older models where you could reset it back to "admin" inside the simulation fairly quickly, SHARP has increased their security levels around this series. You must call the SHARP Hotline for this and they will walk you through the process. I had to do it once but it was over 6 years ago and they ask you to keep the steps private. Good Luck.

Thank you for the replies. I called Sharp and was able to get it in Admin passcode reset.

it being a Sharp... a 40cal lead with copper jacket would fix it ...

You can change it using the DIP switches on the board, slide it out and I think its 2 off the top of my head it when then allow you to initialise it from there. If its the screen calibration one you get its the other switch, I haven't done it for a while.

For this you will have to get ahold of Sharp, it can be done but you have to mess with the dip switches on the board to unlock the hidden simulations in order to do that.
