Sharp 287 E7-00 code

I have a 287 that has a E7-00 code

I checked the MC unit for correct seating, also checked CN2 for broken wires or pin damage. I called Sharp and they said to replace the ICU PWB. Went to order the ICU PWB and it's no longer available but can be sent in for repair so that's what we did.

I got the repaired board today and installed it. Didn't change anything, code still comes up after clearing and reboot.

One thing that HAS changed is that before the repair, as soon as it came on it threw the code, no lamp, no fan noise or anything... NOW, it will fire up, power supply fan comes on, scanner lamp does it's check then it will throw the code?

Another thing that I tried to tell the Sharp rep was the the right 1/3 of the display has bars in it and the int button won't work most of the time...

All he kept saying was "replace the ICU PWB"

I'm wondering "if" the display/button boards are messed up, maybe it's not really clearing it when I clear it? I am able to get to sim 14 and hit the execute then clear all and it reboots from there so maybe it is clearing it...

I'm calling Sharp again tomorrow but wanted to post here for some ideas..

Any ideas??

Have you tried reseating all the connectors & EEPROM on the ICU? There is no connection between the bars on your display and E7-00. The bars are caused by a bad LCD display. I've replaced a couple of those.

Once you reseat connectors replacing the ICU is all that's left. =^..^=

Replaced the PCU PWB with a service part (used one from our bone yard) and code stayed gone

Bars were still there so I replaced the LCD and it all good now...

i faced that problem in AR-337 i changed ICU and M.B but nothing happened the last thing i changed is the DRUm and it working good after that change i think it is the ground of DRUM is bad.
