    service contracts

Just looking for thoughts. Have a customer with 5 sharp copier. Each one has a contract. She called and said she pays to much for contract for each machine. I charge 1.5 cent per copies and even the color machines. All she pays for is toner ,drum developer. Just trying to get sum ideals from other companys as what to say. I don't think she pays that much we even include transfer unit and fuser. Thanks for any input.

    Re: service contracts

Over the years I've seem a wide variety of terms. Maybe some customers like the complicated terms but it's too much for me to keep track of.

The contracts that exclude toner are just an accident waiting to happen. Do you think that your discerning customers will be choosing the OEM high quality toner or the cheapest 5h1t they can find?

My advice is that if you have a formula that is profitable and you can figure it out and sell it, stick to it. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

We charge .0119 b/w 0.069 color. Customer is only responsible for paper and staples. We provide everything else. What good is a "Maintenance contract" if the customer has to pay for maintenance items?

99% of our machines are in this range also. They only pay for paper and staples as well.
I agree, what's the point otherwise?

We have some "Toner Out" contracts. Everything is included, but Toners / Paper & Staples.
We focused on a standard single cost for b/w and color (0,015 is fair) but in the contract we put a rule for customers to buy toner from us with a specific good discount.
Customer is happy because has a low color coverage and toner lasts.
We hare happy, because profit is good and Sharp is low consuming Drum and DEV. Like a B/W Machine.

1 customer more, 1 customer less for the others. :-)
