    AR-M550 Dead touch screen

    Hi Guys,

I tried replacing the touch screen. What I'm getting is a faint blue light coming from the screen. There is no image at all on the screen. Machine operates fine. (People are able to print to it.)

I was just hoping someone could tell me what and where the board is that powers the touch screen.

    Thanks,

    Buddy

It could be as simple as a failed fluorescent backlight or inverter PWB. Can you select individual functions even though you can't see them? I would estimate 80% op panel PWB, 15% Controller PWB, 5% something else. =^..^=
If you'd like a serious answer to your request:
    1) demonstrate that you've read the manual
    2) demonstrate that you made some attempt to fix it.
    3) if you're going to ask about jams include the jam code.
    4) if you're going to ask about an error code include the error code.
    5) You are the person onsite. Only you can make observations.

Try to slide the MFP PWB in and out a few times.

    Thanks Guys,

I tried all of the above and replacing all the related boards - no luck. Did this on a Friday. Went back to it on Monday and it was working! Working that is until I put the back cover on. Turned out to be a shorting harness. What a PIA! Thanks again.

That annoying line between something amazing or something stupid, real stresser sometimes
