    Fuser cleaning Phoenix/Griffin

Does anybody know why there is no more webcleaning on these fusers?

Lower heater gets really dirty with a limited amount of prints.

Also, with the later models there is an extra connection on the fuser, about where you would expect the webcleaning to be...no idea what that is for.

Funny you should mention that as Sharp just released a retrofit to add a web unit to some of these models. With 3070 through 6070, I have found that setting all fuser temps -5 in SIM 43-1 will help with the cleaning AND address the paper curl issues on these models.

Also, they changed the fuser belt unit for the 5070-6070 machines this week as well.

As to the extra connector, Sharp does this often as they use these parts on several different models. The bulletins that are titled "parts change for common use with other models" pertain to this. If you look at a B402SC frame, it has the IT belt sensors for a color model, it even tests in service mode.

OK I have a couple of these machines 50 and 6070's and the LFR's are getting very dirty and causing CQ issues.

I will try the temp adj mentioned above, but interested in the cleaning roller. The number above DKIT-0472FCZZ, come up on TechData, but I can find no mention of it a bulletin on the service side.

If anyone has this bulletin could you please forward

    TIA

As far as I know, Sharp has pulled the original bulletin for adding the cleaning roller. They probably figured out that the roller they suggested using was garbage, and really didn't do anything to clean off excess toner. It's just a foam roller, not an oiled one. I'm not sure why they are so stubborn in admitting that they NEED a web in these fusers. If they would just acknowledge this, then these machines would be very solid machines. Just my two cents.

Part number has changed Per Handy Guide:

    Query: Pressure roller becomes contaminated
Advice: Depending on temperature, humidity andmedia type being used, the pressure roller maybecome contaminated when producing highvolume B/W prints only. Clean/replace thepressure roller and then install the fuserenhancement C/R unit [(DUNT-9555DSZZ]
