    Sharp 5141 mega scan size

I have two sharps in the same account. One is an MX 4101 the other the MX5141. Same document scanned to a network folder yields 10 times larger when done on the 5141. If you’ve run across this I would be very grateful for any insight.

    You mean like file size?

If so, simply change the default resolution for scanning in the web page. I think it's under system settings>network scanner settings.

Mine is 200x200. Perfect for me.

Did that…made absolutely no difference. That’s why I’m so perplexed. Same 2 originals on the 4101 = 300kb… on 5141 = 3.8MEG. The 5141 has the scan compression as “Standard “ but the file size is huge

    That's really interesting!

Have you tried doing a complete clone? Shouldn't matter since it's the same account.

No worries about IP. Cloning doesn't change that.

Edit: check color, most importantly, ocr scans are smaller. Check ocr settings.

Don’t know if it’ll take cause the 4101 is 2 models older.

Check the scan settings if it is B&W one may be set to Grayscale The Mono 2 setting will lower the file size,

Cloning the 4101 to the 5141 did not do anything to improve the file size. It’s still 10 times larger than on the 4101.
A two page scan ttakes up 5 megs

Firmware is current. The PDF compression “ACRE” says “standard”.
My client is ready to roll this machine at the door

You are a genius! Mono 2 was the setting that turned the trick!
If I can ever give you a heads up on anything please let me know
