MX-M453 skewing from drawers
Hello,I am working on this 453 and it has 3 drawers. It is skewing from all drawers. The top tray skews just a little then middle drawer is a little more and bottom drawer more still. Probably like 1/4 inch skewed. I cleaned all the transport rollers and back up rolls on the doors. Cleaned the paper path in general and inspect guides ect. Cannot determine what is causing problem. Thanks for any help.

The First item I would check is the door shutting properly, and the next item would be the transfer roller seating properly.

Re: MX-M453 skewing from drawers
Did you disassemble the registration unit? That's the only way to make sure there isn't a bit of label stuck
Also the rear hole for the registration pressure spring can fracture or break entirely

I would bet that you will find your solution in the PS unit!

PS unit most likely There is a spring at the rear that keeps the pressure on between the rollers. The plastice will break where the spring hooks on.

Thanks, I am going back there tomorrow. I have worked on a lot of these but have not seen that spring problem yet. I will let you all know what I find after I go back there.

Yes the problem was the ps unit. The nub that holds the rear pressure spring on broke off so no spring pressure on rear side of rollers. Thanks everyone for the help.

Its funny, I had not seen this problem before but later in the day I saw the problem again on another machine.

Re: MX-M453 skewing from drawers
I found an elegant fix of wrapping a zip tie around the ps (right where the hole breaks) and hooking the spring to it. I still order the unit but I'm pretty sure it would hold up forever
