MX-6240N Full Bleed Printing?

Hello, a print shop wants to know if this machine can do full bleed printing with no trimming or extra steps other than settings. I found in operators manual where you can print full bleed onto a larger size sheet of paper than the original, then trim it to size. I found another setting where you can print with no top or bottom margin then trim the end margins off.Do you know of settings to do full bleed-no erase margins, no trimming. I have not found a way but a lot of you guys have more knowledge than me. I always thought you had to have at least a lead edge blank margin to get through the fuser. Thanks.

All laser based printers require a leading edge void. Period. Often they also have side voids and trail voids also. The idea behind using 12 x 18 paper is to keep the void, then cut away a bit of the paper to get printing to the edge.

If you do remove the voids, especially on heavy fill images, you'll have endless, unpreventable fuser jams. You have to have voids for the paper to pass the fuser. =^..^=

The term "full bleed" can be a tricky one. On all Sharps I have ever worked on, it always requires printing to a larger size and trimming off the margins; Sharps version of "Full Bleed"....

The 6240 will always have a lead and trail void area. It is not possible to print full bleed on trail or edge. If you could, you would have constant jams. It can however print full bleed from rear to front, main scan direction.

Thanks guys. This is pretty much what I already thought but my boss said it can be done so I wanted to check in case there was something I didnt know about. I also called sharp tech support and they said the same thing.
