Sharp Mx-3100 copies distorted

From both the flatbed or through the spf it comes out distorted. Cleaning the mirrors seems to have helped but it's still distorted. Tried making a ledger copy to see if there was a difference since up until then letter was all I had tried. Thinking that maybe in a new set of dimensions there would be difference in distortions or something. This is the most work I've done to date on the flatbed optics so I'm guessing I'm still missing something somewhere.

Okay, so the issue is from the platen glass, forget about document feeder at this point, and focus on the optics or what processes the optics. I seen your black copies, does this happen on color, too? I know you mentioned that you swapped document feeders on the box you are having issues with. Did you have this issue prior to doc. feeder swap?

I want to say that the doc feed swap has to be part of it, but this customer doesn't tell me much. So, I am operating off of the idea that somehow the swap was part of the cause. It's kind of got me wanting to get back inside the machine where I was moving cables and such to make the swap (maybe I left something loose or somesuch).

I would go back and make sure all the connectors are connected properly, disconnect the adf, and make a scan from the platen and see what your image looks like, with no adf attached, mono as well as color. If you have the same issue, I would start with ccd unit, than scn pwb if needed.

Gotcha, I am going to strip out as many of those items from the one I have in the shop and take them with me tomorrow just in case it's worth trying to swap them.
